RACS Continuing Professional Development

All active fellows of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (engaged in medicine, surgery and medico legal services) are required to participate in the CPD program. The program aims to:

advance the individual surgeons surgical knowledge and skills for the benefit of patients
provide surgeons with tangible evidence of participation in and compliance with the program by the award of a certificate.

RACS Maintenance of Professional Standards

The Maintenance of Professional Standards (MOPS) program is available to surgeons who are vocationally registered in Australia and New Zealand, and who are not fellows of the College. This program will enable specialist surgeons to demonstrate that they are engaged in continuing professional development activities.

Angel Flight Australia

Angel Flight Australia is a charity that co-ordinates non emergency flights for financially and medically needy people. All flights are free and may involve patients or compassionate carers travelling to or from medical facilities anywhere in Australia.

Angel Flight pilots do not carry aeromedical staff or medical equipment so do not act as an alternative to the Flying Doctor (RFDS) or Air Ambulance in that capacity.
